AL FIRE/Butte County Fire Department has officially commenced work on the 8,000-acre South Paradise Vegetation Management Project (VMP) this week, following the receipt of a $1.5-million Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) from the U.S. Forest Service (USFS).

Since Nov. 22, CAL FIRE Butte Unit no longer requires burn permits. However, there might be areas in Butte County that still require a burn permit or have restrictions.
