Gridley Softball Resume with High Hopes

Apr 24, 2025 09:44AM ● By Dillon Longmire

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - The Gridley Bulldogs softball team gear up for the second half of the season with a record standing at 8-4 overall, and 1-2 in league.

The Lady Bulldogs started the season with four straight wins and smoke coming off their bats, as in those games the Bulldogs scored a combined 60 runs and only allowed 7 runs. After their first loss of the season came against the Las Plumas Thunderbirds on March 22, the Bulldogs would dominate four straight games once again as this time they would score 68 combined runs while allowing only 14.

Since that dominating stretch, the Bulldogs have lost three straight league games, and their offensive output has seemed to be put in a slump. Fortunately for the Bulldogs, they had a spring break to mentally and physically reset and hope for a strong finish to the season.

The Bulldogs resume play travel and play the Pierce Bears on Tuesday, April 23 and then on Friday, April 25 the Bulldogs will face the Corning Cardinals in Corning. Both games will start at 4 p.m.
