BIGGS, CA (MPG) - The Biggs High School softball team has been on a tear during tournament play in March.
The Wolverines won their home tournament, which ran from March 20 to March 22. During the tournament, Biggs racked up four wins and one tie. First, the team beat Durham High School on March 20 by a score of 3-1. Next up, the Wolverines took down both Chester and Fall River on March 21, outscoring the two opponents by a total of 19 runs scored to only three allowed.
In the final game of the Biggs tournament, the Wolverines tied Mt. Shasta High by a score of 9-9.
Next up for the Wolverines was the Trinity High School tournament in Weaverville, which ran from March 28 to March 29.
In the Trinty tournament, the Wolverines outscored their opponents 51 runs to four runs in just 16 innings. That led to Biggs winning all four games played in Weaverville.
Across the four games, Biggs hitters tallied 47 total hits, including 17 doubles and five homeruns.
The Wolverines currently have a record of 10-2-1 and are scheduled to begin league play on April 1 when they host the Williams High School Yellowjackets, weather permitting, after press time.
