GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - The Gridley Lions recently heard three Gridley High School students share their ideas about the 2025 theme for the Lions Student Speaker Contest.
The speaker contest’s theme was “AI (Artificial Intelligence): Friend or Foe?”
The student speakers were Joseph Schohr, Annie Woods and Charlie Medina.
The Gridley High School students joined many other students throughout California who were vying for the Lions Student Speaker Scholarships. The student who wins through to the state level will earn $21,000 in scholarships.
The entire contest from all the participating Lions Clubs throughout California provides more than $120,000 in scholarships to participating students going on to two- or four-year colleges.
The winner of the Gridley Club’s contest was Schrohr, who will compete in the Lions Zone Contest on March 5 in Gridley. His fellow Gridley High students,Woods and Medina were also strong speakers with well-thought-out ideas.
Congratulations to the three students for their participation in the local speaking contest.
