GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Gridley Rotary responded to urgent requests from Rotarians in the Los Angeles area to collect a variety of items for wildfire victims in Southern California. Donations were collected at Children’s Hope last week.
Donors had an extensive list of items needed for the wildfire victims to fill. The list included glucose test strips and toilet paper, pet food and kitty litter, and all the other supplies used throughout the day.
The deadline was extended from Jan. 22 to Jan. 24 to acquire more donations.

On Jan. 24, all the donations were loaded up by Gridley Rotarian Efren Del Rio and his 9-year-old son, Camden. The supplies were then driven to Folsom, where a U-Haul truck was waiting. Chuck & Conni Thompson of the Historic Folsom Rotary club helped load the items and then drove the U-Haul to Los Angeles.
Rotary clubs in Los Angeles will distribute the items.
Gridley Rotary thanks everyone who donated to the wildfire victims.
