YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Assemblyman James Gallagher released the following statement on the destruction of the historic Bidwell Mansion in a fire.

“For generations, this historic landmark has been an essential part of Chico’s identity and heritage. While the investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway, it’s clear that this beloved site will be deeply missed. My heart goes out to everyone who holds this place dear, and I know our community will come together in this difficult time to support one another. Thank you to our first responders for their tireless efforts. We will work to ensure that the legacy of Bidwell Mansion is preserved for future generations.”

Assemblyman James Gallagher represents the 3rd Assembly District, which encompasses all of Glenn, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba counties as well as portions of Butte and Colusa counties.
