Another City Council Member Resigns from Biggs
Dec 05, 2024 04:53PM ● By Connie VossBIGGS, CA (MPG) - Less than two months since the last resignation, City Council member Michael Buck resigned from Biggs City Council at a special meeting held Dec. 3.
The purpose of the meeting was to appoint a new council member to replace Chuck Nuchols, who resigned Oct. 10.
Buck handed his resignation letter to recently-appointed Interim City Administrator Cliff Wagner, who was hired on Nov. 12 to fill in for City Administrator Josh Cook’s leave of absence.
Several reasons were given by Buck, citing the “numerous investigations into the council members and current city administrator that is on paid leave.”
“I did not realize that voting on a project within 1,000 feet of my property was a violation, for that I am sorry. To ensure that it never happens again, I resign my position,” Buck said.
At the council meeting scheduled for next week on Dec. 10, the two newly-elected council members Anita Wilks and Jerome Squires will be sworn in.
