Nov 21, 2024 11:46AM ● By Office of Rep. Doug LaMalfa News Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. (MPG) - On Nov. 18, Rep. LaMalfa (R-Richvale) announced that the Environmental Protection Agency will be awarding $1.75 million to the Town of Paradise for the Sewer Regionalization Connection.

This funding, secured through Congressman LaMalfa’s Community Project Funding program, is a crucial part of the ongoing recovery for the Town of Paradise, which has been rebuilding since the devastation of the Camp Fire in 2018.

“After the devastation of the Camp Fire, Paradise is making tremendous progress in their effort to rebuild, and this project is a critical part of that,” said Rep. LaMalfa. “Connecting to the regional sewer system in Chico will improve the quality of life for our residents and businesses, while laying the foundation for future growth and development. I am pleased to help secure this funding to strengthen our infrastructure and ensure that Paradise is built back stronger than ever.”

Historically, Paradise relied on septic systems, but this new funding will connect the town to the regional sewer system in Chico, offering a long-term solution to modernize its infrastructure. The $1.75 million investment will ensure that Paradise has access to a more reliable sewer system, promoting public health and safeguarding local waterways as the region continues its recovery.
