GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - After months of anticipation, Gridley finally welcomes Dutch Bros Coffee to town.
The walk-up and drive-through coffee venue was started back in 1992 by Oregonians Dane and Travis Boersma. Known for its vibe and high energy, Dutch Bros crewmembers are typically lively and chatty, furthering the sentiment of building relationships that was instilled in the company by its founders.
According to its website, Dutch Bros Coffee has grown from its original start as a pushcart run by the Boersma brothers where they would “serve up espresso, rock their favorite music and make connections with their community” to multiple locations in the Northwest. The company began in Grants Pass, Oregon and has branched out into neighboring states.
Currently, the company continues to expand while striving to “make a difference one cup at a time,” raising money for worthy causes.
In 2007, Dutch Bros began the “Drink One for Dane” honoring co-founder Dane Boersma after his ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease) diagnosis. Since, Dutch Bros has dedicated a day in May to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and aims to help #EndALS.
Dutch Bros Coffee also raises money for children during its “Bucks for Kids” campaigns and other worthy organizations with its Dutch Luv campaign.
Gridley’s Dutch Bros opens promptly in the morning hours: the company’s typical open hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce plans to welcome Dutch Bros with a ribbon-cutting opening day at its newest location on 1464 CA-99 at 10 a.m. Nov. 15.
