OROVILLE, CA (MPG) - Butte College is gearing up to host its second annual Bountiful Butte Harvest Festival, a vibrant day filled with family-friendly activities and community celebration.

This year's event is set for Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Butte College Farm at 3536 Butte Campus Drive, Oroville.

The Bountiful Butte Harvest Festival offers a unique chance for families and individuals to gather, enjoy the spirit of community, and experience the beauty of the Butte College Farm. Admission is free, making the event accessible to everyone, with donations appreciated to support this community-driven initiative.

The festival will feature a wide range of activities designed for all ages. Highlights include wildlife refuge and farm tours, picnic games, face painting, hair tinsel braiding, (remove) nail art, and shopping at our pumpkin patch.

Visitors can also explore the horticulture department's plant sale, where various plants will be available for purchase. Additionally, for football fans, the day doesn't have to end with the festival; attendees are encouraged to go to the Butte College football game at 1 p.m., where the Roadrunners will face off against the College of the Sequoias.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase at the designated picnic area. Guests are encouraged to bring water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the day. For those looking to bring home some seasonal decor or produce, a market area will offer pumpkins, gourds, and corn for sale—perfect for adding a touch of the harvest season to your home.

The event will also include informational booths showcasing a variety of Butte College programs, providing attendees the chance to learn about the educational opportunities and resources available at the college.

“We envision the harvest festival as a way to bring our communities together and share all that Butte College has to offer,” said Dr. Jennifer Charles-Tollerup, a committee member and agriculture production instructor. “We hope you’ll join us down on the farm to celebrate this special day.”

Students are equally excited about the event.

“I’m most looking forward to the opportunity to create memories and bring joy to others through our amazing fall garden,” said Saydee Runkey, an agriculture business student.

Don't miss out on this festive occasion that brings together the best of fall, farming, and community spirit!
