GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - On Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, the Gridley Titans 12U football team took on the Anderson Jr. Cubs, in Anderson.

The Titans struck first with a touchdown pass by quarterback Nickolas Kent to running back Adrian Fuentes. Titans’ kicker Yoshimar Martinez sealed the first score with a successful extra-point kick. The Jr. Cubs answered back with a touchdown and a successful extra point kick of their own. The Titans offensive line drove the Jr. Cubs’ defense up and down the field which resulted in two additional touchdowns with successful extra-point kicks. Quarterback Cannon Sannar scored the second touchdown and Knox Buzzard scored the third touchdown for the Titans.

On the defensive side of the ball, Adrian Fuentes led the team with several sacks. Vitcor Guillen had an interception followed by a long run. In the fourth quarter, the score was tied 24 to 24. With only a few minutes left on the clock, the Jr. Cubs were able to score another touchdown which resulted in a victory for the Jr. Cubs. The final score of the game was 32-24. This brings the 12U Titans’ record to three wins and two losses.
