BUTTE COUNTY, CA (MPG) - At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, firefighters were dispatched to a vegetation fire near the old Rock House restaurant on Highway 70 and Timtam Lane in Concow. The fire was contained to a 50 by 70 foot area of vegetation and a vehicle with burn damage.

A CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officer conducted an investigation of the origin and cause of the fire. During the investigation, the officer contacted 64-year-old Douglas Allen Rowell. After interviewing Rowell, he was arrested for violating Penal Code 451(c), arson to forestland, and booked into Butte County Jail.
