GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - During these hard economic times, Gridley Rotary, in partnership with the North Valley Food Bank and Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce, is here to help.
The second Tuesday of each month from 10 to 11:30 a.m., local volunteers open the doors of St Timothy's Church to provide access to a food closet for those facing food insecurities in the community.
Rotary's President Lynn Spencer, who helps organize the distribution, told the Herald that meals typically are protein based and include a meat, a carb such as pasta or rice and canned goods.
The meals are grouped into packages and distributed to anyone in the community in need.

Pictured here are some of the food options at St. Timothy’s.
Spencer said that the numbers of people that they serve have grown from 30 when the food closet first opened to more than 100 now.
Those struggling or in need of a little help are encouraged to come out to the St. Timothy's Church located at 410 Jackson St., Gridley.
If you are unable to make it during open hours, contact the Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce at 530-846-3142 to make arrangements for pickup.
