Biggs Wrestlers Advance

BIGGS, CA (MPG) - Regular season wrestling has come to a close for some Biggs High School wrestlers, while others are moving on to higher levels of competition.

According to Coach Cody Walsh his athletes traveled to East Nicholas High School to compete in the Division 3 and 4 northern section championships.

Biggs’s Xavier Pinedo qualified for sections, while many of his lady wrestlers placed at division championships. Karma Oliverez would take 1st place at division championships wrestling at 112 lbs., Jayden Beck also took 1st place wrestling at 137 lb. weight class and Emma Bowles took 2nd place in the 192-weight class. Jessie Avram would secure a third-place medal wrestling in the 172-weight class. The ladies would also have the distinction of winning Division 4 team championship.

The ladies will be moving on to the NSCIF Masters competition in Red Bluff February 16th -17th. The top two boys will qualify for the NSCIF State Tournament. As for the ladies, only the champion will advance to the State level competition.
