GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - The Sutter Buttes Family Orchestra continues its long-standing tradition of a Christmas concert this Sunday. While previous concerts have featured the Grinch, Santa Claus, and Olaf, this year’s concert is focused on sacred Christmas music.

For the first time, the orchestra is adding a community vocal choir, which will sing two beautiful numbers, “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and “O Holy Night,” both with orchestra accompaniment. Maggie Hepworth has directed and rehearsed the choir, which will feature soloist Michael Hansen.

The Sutter Buttes Ward children’s choir will sing an original Christmas song, and the orchestra will share Christmas music in a variety of styles, including a fantasia on “We Three Kings” and a performance with the “king of instruments.”

The orchestra and choir will perform Sunday, December 10, at 7:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 400 Spruce Street in Gridley. The concert is free and family-friendly.

Orchestra musicians come from Gridley and surrounding communities. People of all ages and abilities are invited to join the orchestra. For more information, please email director Carol Brown at [email protected].
