GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Despite the torrential downpour last Saturday, the community came out for the annual Grinchmas Breakfast held by the Gridley Parks and Recreation Department.

Over pancakes and maple syrup, family and friends gathered for holiday fun and crafts. Spectacular and adorable entries had guests fawning over the gingerbread house contest that featured children, teenage and adult categories. Winners were voted on by the crowd with Jax Terrell taking first place for the kids age group, Shawnacy McGilvary taking the prize for the teen category and Lisa McConnell taking it home for the adults. Others took home a small prize for participation.

The grumpy Grinch roamed Whoville and took pictures with guests, while others jumped at the chance to share their Christmas wish lists with Santa and snap a photo too.

Items that made up the silent auction wowed, and many took home some amazing gift baskets. Proceeds benefitted the GHS 2023 Sober Grad night.

Gridley Parks and Recreation would like to thank the Gridley Lions Club for cooking and the following sponsors: Knights of Columbus, Christian Life Church, Railhouse Pub & Grill, Ace Hardware, Gridley Quota Club, Back in Time Arcade, Memories by Morris, Gridley Lions Club, Manzanita Market and Starbucks.
