GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – The first inaugural Gridley Truck Show is coming soon!
Organizers Steve Kenny, CEO of the Butte County Fairgrounds, Diego Ramos and the Simpsons, a husband-and-wife team, are working in co-operation with Gridley’s VFW Post 5731, to host this new-to-Gridley truck show.
The truck show was conceived when Kenny and VFW Post 5731 Commander, Ed Kawasaki, who had been brainstorming a car show, crossed paths with the Simpsons and Ramos. Having 26 years’ experience planning car shows, the Simpsons and prodigy Ramos, teamed with Kawasaki and Kenny, and the Gridley Truck Show became a reality. It’s main purpose, to act as a fundraiser for the local VFW post.
Mr. Simpson says that the support for the show has been overwhelming. To organize an event of this magnitude is expensive says Simpson, but that “everybody has jumped on board, one way or another,” and that “the support has been awesome.” All proceeds from the raffle will go to the VFW Post 5731.
Commander Kawasaki says, “VFW would like to thank the promoters of this event, Diego Ramos, Mr. and Mrs. Simpson, and Steve Kenny, manager from Butte County Fairgrounds. We look forward to this event and hope the community will show their support. Gridley VFW invites veterans to stop by our booth at the show.”
