Officer of the Year

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Gridley Police Department’s Chief Rodney Harr recently announced the 2021 Officer of the Year.

Chosen by her fellow officers, Officer Jennifer Silva, who has been with GPD for just over two years, was the recipient of the honor.  Of her excellence in service to the Gridley community, Chief Harr said, “She’s one of our highest producing officers, and she’s been a very key element in reducing the crime activities of our individuals within the city and surrounding areas.”

Of the honor, Officer Silva says, “It is especially a meaningful award because, although it’s nice to be recognized for your statistical achievements, when you have your department voting… it means a lot more.” She continues to say that she is very proud and humbled by the award and that, “I am very appreciative to GPD and all the guys and gals that I work with every day.”

Officer Silva was recognized at the March 21st City Council meeting, Mayor Johnson, representing the members of the City Council, expressed their appreciation of Officer Silva for her dedication and service to citizens of Gridley.
