GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Craft tables, a youth karaoke contest, art displays, and homemade ice cream from Johnson’s U-pick Farm will combine to create an entertaining and interactive arts festival tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, October 16.

Children and youth in grades K-12 are invited to participate in the karaoke contest.  Cash prizes for first place are $100 high school, $75 middle school, and $50 K-5.  Those interested can see the Kaleidoscope Gridley Arts Council Facebook page for more information.

Craft tables featuring rock painting, rainbow star folding, and other crafts will engage children and adults alike.  Local artists will also have their work on display.

This growing season, Mark and Jenny Johnson added homemade ice cream to their local u-pick farm.  They will be on site selling ice cream made from the fruits and nuts grown on their farm.  Proceeds will benefit Kaleidoscope and their efforts to promote the arts in Gridley, especially with youth.

The arts festival will be held Saturday, October 16, at Daddow Park, Gridley’s downtown park, from 4:00-5:30 pm.  Admission is free.  Please see the Kaleidoscope Facebook page for more information.
