GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Kawasaki field in Vierra Park is not the most ideal size field for adult slow pitch softball in Gridley but it works for now, and a lot of players enjoy the feeling of hitting a home run over the fence. Ideally, an adult size field would make for many more things within the adult sports world, but for now players come from communities outside the local area to play and hit dingers. It’s usually a good time with friends, family, and new players. Every Fall around September or October players come together for eight weeks of the regular season to make it into the one day of playoffs. The past few years have seen new champions every year. 

This year, 530 Sports is seeing new faces on the diamond as well as a few new team names and new managers. This year’s team names are Bombs Over Tokyo, Cheers, Dirty Birds, Mad Batters, Mob City, Pirates, and Softball & Chill.

The season started on Monday, October 4, 2021, and will run until Monday, November 29th. Games are played every Monday from 6:30PM, 7:45PM, and 8:50PM. If you’re looking for some fun entertaining Monday evenings, come on down to Kawasaki field in Vierra Park and cheer on your favorite ball player.
