GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – A mid-afternoon accident July 1st, left one vehicle no choice but to crash through the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery gates.
A white sedan that appeared to be heading northbound on Highway 99 left its intended course of travel on the roadway, crashing into the fencing and narrowly missing a power pole at the main entrance to the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery. Severe damage to the back of the vehicle suggests a possible collision with a second vehicle, which supposed witness chatter and posts on Facebook has been circulating. Other damage appeared mostly to have been sustained by the cemetery fencing and a road sign.
At the time of this picture, California Highway Patrol units had responded to the scene along with multiple towing agencies to clean up the debris and remove the disabled vehicle. If anyone had been injured, Emergency Responders, along with the rumored second vehicle, had left the scene some time before.
CHP was unable to confirm the exact details of this fender bender before this article went to print. Hopes are that no one involved was seriously injured.
