GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – A local youth has a shot at the stars, and he’s taking it!
Ahmani Jones has been selected from a national pool of 2,000 aspiring actors, models, and performers to attend a prestigious and life-changing event, the International Presentation of Performers, or iPOP.
The convention iPOP calls itself, the “Superbowl” of modeling/acting and promises upcoming talent the chance to hone their skills, make serious connections and ultimately, launch their acting, singing, dancing and modeling careers.
Working with NYLA Talent, Ahmani will have the unique and career launching experience of traveling to Florida to attend the iPOP convention, at the Orlando World Center Marriot July 5-9th of this year. The immersive program will put talented individuals like Ahmani through a celebrity bootcamp, where performers will fine tune their skills with acting, modeling, singing and dancing coaches. Performers will be judged during the competitions and be scouted by industry leading agents, managers, and casting directors. The week culminates with a gala where all performers, models, etc. are featured and have a chance to win a TV spot, sign with major agencies and more!
According to his family, Ahmani is destined for iPOP. His mother, Aaliyah Jones says he has shown promise from an early age and “He’s just a natural…They picked him off his looks at first, but yes, he just got in” on his natural talents. After that, he worked with various agencies and his aptitude for acting and performing brought him to this threshold. It is his and his family’s hope that big doors are about to open for the young man.
Ahmani says, “I’m very excited, you know, just to know the experience and what I could be doing in the future….”
There is just one more hurdle to cross. Ahmani is attempting to raise $4,500 so that he can pay for his attendance to the convention.
The family is incredibly proud of their son and hopes to be able to reach their fundraising goals before it is too late. “It means the world to our family for an opportunity like this. We will be representing Gridley and California and it’s just wonderful!” says Aaliyah.
