Biggs-Richvale Majors Lady A's Win District-47 Tournament of Champions

BIGGS, CA (MPG) - The Biggs-Richvale majors softball team was on fire this Little League season going an impressive 16-0. They played 13 games in the regular season and swept the District 47 Majors Softball Tournament of Champions bracket in 3 games. Managed by Brian Harrison and coached by Jolene Sheppard and Tera Tuttle, the Lady A’s showed their hard work and team chemistry really paid off in the championship game against Durham Little League. 

The tournament for the Lady A’s got started on Saturday, June 5, 2021, in Willows, CA against Oroville Little League. The Lady A’s took care of business with a 12-2 victory to move on in the bracket. Their second game was on Monday, June 8, 2021, against tournament host, Willows Little League. A tougher battle, the Lady A’s were victorious 4-3 to move onto the championship round. On June 9, 2021, the Lady A’s played Durham Little League for the T.O.C. Championship. Down 7-1 in the bottom of the second inning, the Lady A’s battled back to take an 8-7 lead in the inning and would go on to victory 11-9. 

The players on the team included: Kaydenze Pruitt (#1), Madison Miller (#2), Emma Bermudez (#3), Arden Vines (#4), Gracie Sheppard (#5), Brittany Lewis (#7), Kimberly Gonzalez (#8), Val Poyner (#9), Riley Harrison (#10), Natalie Harris (#11), Allison DeLira (#12), and Kaedence Lowery (#13). 

Kaydenze Pruitt won the player of the game award and hit an inside the park home run in the big comeback second inning to help lead the Biggs-Richvale A’s to victory as tournament champions. Congratulations girls and coaches!
