YUBA CITY, CA. (MPG) - American Legion Stephen M. Brammer Post 705 would like to formally invite you to their first annual flag retirement ceremony this Flag Day, June 14, 2021, at 9:00 am. The ceremony will be at Sutter Cemetery.

This Flag Day, they are hosting the largest flag retirement ceremony our region has ever seen. The first Flag Day was observed on June 14th, 1877 to commemorate the one -hundredth anniversary of the adoption of our great banner.

As a result, Manzanita 4H will be collecting flags in need of retirement to be given to the American Legion Stephen M Beamer Post 705 in Yuba City. Flags that are considered in need of retirement are flags that are torn, tattered, or otherwise worn and no longer fit to be flown.

If you would like to donate any flag in need of retirement, please call Christy at 530-693-1000 or email her at [email protected]. Manzanita 4H will make arrangements to pick them up. We ask that all donations be scheduled for pick up by June 5th, so we have adequate time to deliver them to the American Legion.
