Gridley Bulldogs Varsity Baseball Win 7 Straight, Start League 3-0

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Gridley High School’s varsity baseball team has stayed hot since the Spring Break tournament they competed in April 4th - April 7th. The Bulldogs have been on a seven game winning streak since their last loss on April 7, 2021 and have started Butte View League 3-0, winning league games against Corning High School and Orland High School last week.

In their last home game against the Orland Trojans on Thursday, April 29, 2021, the Bulldogs commanded the game from the get-go. Junior pitcher, Aden Brothers, was dominant in his five innings on the bump, giving up one hit and striking out eleven Trojan batters as the Bulldogs won via mercy rule 13-0.

Senior, Cameron Erickson, led the Bulldogs offense going 2-for-2 with a single, a triple, a walk, scored two runs, and drove in four RBIs. Senior, Arden Anderson, went 3-for-4 with two singles, a 3-run home run, scored two runs, and drove in three RBIs. Junior, Cash Mills, went 2-for-3 with two singles, driving in two RBIs. Brothers went 2-for-3 with two singles, driving in one RBI. Senior, Ethan Santillan,  went 1-for-1 with a single and scored two runs. And senior, Brady Crabtree, went 2-for-2 with two singles.

The Bulldogs continue league play this week at Orland High School and non-league play against Pleasant Valley High School. The Bulldogs will get back to league play at home against the Sutter Huskies on May 11th and May 12th starting at 4:00 PM.
