GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - It was another beautiful day at the ballpark for some baseball and softball seasons to get started. Sponsors by the Major League Baseball organization Oakland Athletics, Biggs/Richvale Little League opened their season on Saturday, March 27, 2021 with A’s baseball and softball players everywhere. Parents, grandparents, friends, and family packed Rio Bonito Park to see their favorite ball player play the games they have missed out on playing for over a year. With last season getting canceled, everyone was so happy and grateful to be out once again for some live action sports.
The Farm division got things started with back to back games, while t-ball players took the field for an always joyous game to watch. The Minors baseball Black A’s took on the Yellow A’s and pulled off the 18-6 victory. The Majors baseball Green A’s hosted the Gridley Giants and won 11-1. The Minors softball A’s fell to the Gridley Marlins 17-7. And the Majors softball A’s won over the Gridley Braves 6-3.
