GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – The staff of Gridley’s Liberty Tax celebrated their Grand Opening in its newest location in Gridley with a ribbon cutting ceremony put on by the Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce Wednesday, March 10th.

Although the weather was a little volatile, Liberty Tax provided merchandise and goodies for those that ventured out to celebrate with them, including the chance to spin the wheel of prizes and win a free tax preparation.

Owner of the Gridley branch of Liberty Tax, Elizabeth Adams and her husband Aaron says that the Gridley location has been on their radar for about three years, with their original office in Oroville and second location in Paradise. Recently, the stars aligned, and the perfect location became available in Gridley. “Now it’s time. We could be there, could be closer and make it more convenient for everybody!” Says Adams, so they jumped at the chance.

Adams shares that at Liberty Tax, a lot goes in to making their customers and their community feel like family. “It’s because we are franchise. We are able to be in an area where it’s our friends, it’s our family, people we’ve grown up with that we’re able to help in the community.” In a typical year, Adams says her branches of Liberty Tax hold multiple community events such as BBQ’s and fundraises to build a strong bond with their communities. She says, it’s “because everything we do, we’re doing to help people. I do taxes to make it less confusing and less frustrating dealing with the government. So, we try to continue and give back to the community also.”

Every year in March, Liberty Tax celebrates a different group of pivotal players during Appreciation Month. The first week of March 2021 was teacher appreciation week, followed by first responders, military, and veterans. Adams shares, “We usually give out 10 free returns in those lines, and then for following years, returning customers always get a discount in the month of March.”
