Hey, Batter-Batter! Gridley Little League Plans 2021 Season

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Gridley Little League board has voted to move forward with the 2021 season and has announced that opening day will be March 20th!

Currently, tryouts are scheduled for Saturday, February 6th and Wednesday, February 10th for players as young as 4 years of age up to 14.

The cancellation of last year’s season left a bad taste in the mouths of parents who expected a full to partial refund of dues since players never got to actually play. Said refund never came even after community backlash and complaints to the 2020 GLL board. This year, the board is excited to announce that they will be offering a $50 discount to the regularly priced $90 registration fee due to the loss of last season for returning players, making registration fees just $40.

The GLL board would like to remind parents and players that there will be COVID-19 guidelines in place that all must follow to participate. Further details on those will be provided in the future to register players. Plans for the 2021 Little League season may also change due to State and County mandates.

Registration is currently open on Blue Sombrero and will be available until February 10th at 4:59 pm. Please register your ball-player at: https://tinyurl.com/y473yqah. GLL is also in need of volunteer coaches for T-ball up to Juniors divisions. If you are interested in coaching please visit https://tinyurl.com/y4fx3lz7 and fill out the form. Please watch the Gridley Little League Facebook page for updates.

Your 2021 board members are: President - Joe Dewsnup, Vice President – Juliann Fox, Secretary – Amanda Schohr, treasurer – Erica White, Player Agent – Branden Heskett, Coaching Coordinator- Stephanie Taylor, Umpire in Chief – Jon Harris, Sponsorship Fundraising Manager- Levi Rosser and Concession manager- Gladys Diaz.
