GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – The Gridley Live Spot has a new home in downtown Gridley thanks to a generous grant from the North Valley Community Foundation.
The Live Spot, which operates under the umbrella of the Butte County Behavior Health Prevention Unit, provides a safe environment for youth in the form of a Teen Center and after school program. With COVID causing more students to distance learn, the Live Spot has expanded its offerings to include an Academic Support Program which offers a free, virtual learning environment in a supervised space for students equipped with Wi-Fi. Students must bring their own materials and must adhere to COVID-19 safety precautions in place at the center.
The Gridley Live Spot officially opened its doors at 590 Hazel St. just a few weeks ago and is encouraging parents and youth to explore the opportunities to build positive peer relationships, academic support and activities designed to help youth create a positive impact in their community. Open Mon-Thurs 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, the Live Spot functions as a learning center in the morning hours and as a Teen Center after 12:00 pm.
