GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Manzanita School teachers and administration celebrated their students surviving the first month of distance learning the best way possible - with Ice Cream!
Wednesday, September 30th, the school invited all students to a drive-thru Ice Cream Social held on campus from 4-6 pm. Superintendent and Principal Gary Rogers said that Manzanita administration and staff really wanted to recognize the hard work and patience of the students and felt the event would be a well-deserved treat. Distance learning has posed challenges to both students and teachers requiring both parties to be flexible. Principal Rogers says, “That’s been the amazing thing, how resilient they are (students) and how much we, as adults, stress over things and the kids just adapt and are able to do so well.”
The drive-thru did brisk business with a steady stream of cars rolling in. The Manzanita Mustang was there to take orders and smiles filled faces as the students got to see some of the teachers face to face for the first time in months.
