Oct 08, 2020 12:00AM ● By By Russ Brown, Sutter County

SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) -  As part of an inter-agency effort to support the agricultural industry, the Sutter County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office is assisting the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, and the California Office of Emergency Services in distribution of surgical masks, N95 respirators, cloth masks, Nitrile gloves and hand sanitizer to assist with the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and wildfire smoke. This Person Protective Equipment (PPE) is to help provide protection to farmworkers and other agricultural operations only.

The surgical type and cloth masks are for protection in circumstances where appropriate social distancing cannot be achieved. These masks are not a substitute for activities where a N95 Respirator is required and are not NIOSH approved. A limited number of N95 Respirators will be given away if strict state issued criteria are met.

The Sutter County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office will be hosting a drive-up PPE distribution event free of charge at the Sutter County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office 142 Garden Hwy, Yuba City on Friday, 10/9/20 from 7:30 am until 12:00 pm.  Please pull into the main front parking lot where you will be directed to the distribution area.

Agricultural business can contact their local Agricultural Commissioner or the Yuba-Sutter Farm Bureau for PPE or more information:
