BCSO Announces Arrest Related to Biggs Unified School District Burglary

BIGGS, CA (MPG) – In September of 2020, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) began investigating a burglary that occurred at the Biggs Unified School District. Detectives and deputies worked with the Biggs Unified School District and obtained video surveillance which captured portions of the burglary. Deputies and detectives were able to identify Adison Mortenson, age 31, as the individual who committed the burglary.

Based on evidence located during the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mortenson. Detectives determined Mortenson had an additional arrest warrant which was issued in Spokane, Washington. On September 24, 2020, Mortenson was located and placed under arrest in Contra Costa County, California.

On September 29, detectives interviewed Mortenson at the Martinez Detention Facility. With the assistance of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, detectives were able to obtain additional evidence related to this ongoing burglary investigation.
