Yuba City Police Department Release Info on Fatal Hit and Run

received 911 calls regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian at the intersection of Garden Hwy., and Percy
Ave. Initial callers advised the vehicle had fled the area and officers confirmed this when they
arrived on scene. The pedestrian was located in the middle of the intersection and was pronounced
deceased at the scene. The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of
kin. The Sutter County Coroner’s office will provide the identity when the notification is complete.
Based on evidence at the scene and surveillance video it was determined the vehicle involved was a
dark colored Ford Edge which was traveling eastbound on Garden Hwy., and struck the pedestrian
which was walking south on Percy Ave., crossing through the intersection.
During the course of this investigation, on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at approximately 4:30am, the
driver of the vehicle, Kassidy Dunn (20 years of age) from Marysville, turned herself into the Yuba
City Police Department. Ms. Dunn was booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges of vehicular
manslaughter and felony hit and run. Neither alcohol or drugs are believed to be a factor in this
collision. The investigation is continuing and anyone who potentially witnessed this incident is
