Additional Road Closures Announced as Live Oak Streetscape Construction Ramps Up
Jul 29, 2020 12:00AM ● By Seti LongCaltrans and the Live Oak 99 Streetscape & Pavement Project announced additional upcoming road closures as the project gets underway this week.
According to a notice released from Caltrans, construction crews are currently ramping up the work on the south side of town in preparation for a traffic switch scheduled for the weekend of August 1st. This traffic switch marks the beginning of Stage 4A of the project, which runs from south of Ash Street to Walker Way.
During this phase, traffic will be realigned and occupy the east half of the east halve of the roadway, with construction occurring on the western portion of the roadway. Motorist can expect both northbound and southbound lanes to be narrowed to 11 feet wide, the removal of the turning lane and speed limits will be reduced to 30 miles per hour for safety.
Additional road closures will include:
- July 27th through 30th - State Route 99 between Myrtle Street and Nevada Street (south) between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 am.
- July 28th through August 1st - State Route 99 between Coleman Avenue and Archer/Larking Road north between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 am.
- Beginning August 1st Larkin Road (west) will be completely closed during this phase of construction, estimated to reopen in 4 weeks.
