BIGGS, CA (MPG) – With 8th Grade Graduation set for Thursday, June 11th, BUSD faculty and families wanted to honor the top 8 graduating students: Valedictorian Addie Scott, Ally Williams, Chase McClean, Jazmin Ibarra, Kaitlyn West, Nicole Conway, Rylan Jones and Zainab Tahir.

Speeches by these top performers will be featured during virtual graduation ceremonies on the morning of June 11th.

Biggs Elementary School Teacher, Mrs. Moore had something special to say about each one of these graduates:

Kaitlyn West–Kaitlyn was a great addition to our class this year.  She is a great student who is very concerned about her education.  She was a transplant from Chico this year, She will go far in life with her dedication to education.

Jazmin Ibarra–There is so much to say about Jazmin, where do I start?  I had the pleasure of having Jazmin in my class for the last 2 years, she is a super student who will try and succeed in everything that she does.  She is a 2 year member of CJSF and a scholarship winner for the Marian Huhn Award. Jazmin is an excellent athlete also, involved in basketball, volleyball and softball.  She is a student who cares about other students and will succeed in anything that she sets her mind to.

Chase McLean–Chase was a wonderful addition to our classroom this past year. I first thought he was the quiet and shy type, but soon found out that he had a great sense of humor too. Chase is one of those students who takes on any challenge that he is given.  He is also a great basketball player who will be a great asset to Biggs High School.

Zainab Tahir–Talk about the quiet and shy young lady, she is super dedicated to her goals and education.  Never once did I see or hear her complain about any assignment that I gave to her. She was a great addition to my class and I will miss her greatly.

Addie Scott- Wow! What a fantastic young lady.  Always eager to help anyone in need.  She was our ASB President and a CJSF member for 2 years also. Addie is also involved in many activities outside of school also.  She shows animals at the local fairs and was Miss Teen for the Butte County Fair. Addie earned straight A's for the last 3 years and is this year's Valedictorian for this year's graduating class of Biggs Elementary School.  Addie has set some lofty goals for herself and I know that she will succeed in everyone of them.

8th Grade teacher Mrs. Roberts continued the praise for the following students:

Rylan Jones–Rylan is a conscientious student and someone who brings joy to any group he joins! On most weekends you can find him at the racetrack, riding or racing his dirt bike. He enjoys sports and is looking forward to playing football and baseball for Biggs High School. His playful personality and willingness to persevere through challenging assignments made him into a superb student and classmate. He is a genuine joy to have in the classroom.

Ally Williams–Ally is a bright, intelligent young lady!  She is a beautiful writer and thinker.  Ally is a favorite classmate who brings out the best in those around her. She was a proud member of the Biggs Elementary volleyball and basketball teams.  Ally also takes pride in her academics and keeping her grades top notch.  Every teacher deserves a student like Ally in their classroom!

Nicole Conway–Nicole is a brilliant team player and leader, on the softball field, on the volleyball court, and in the classroom. She works hard and looks for ways to improve in everything she does. This young lady has a bright future ahead of her. We can’t wait to see how she’ll add her positive mark to our world!
