GRIDLEY, CA (MPG8) – Quarantined parents, children and kind-hearted neighbors alike, have found a way to create togetherness and unity while also safely maintaining distance and solitude.

Originating in Illinois, “Heart Hunters” has now reached Gridley, CA with colorful and clever creations of hearts and other various feel-good images displayed in windows. It has begun to trend on Facebook as communities across the nation join in the fun, aiding Isolated and confused children conquer boredom. Paper cut-outs, window paints and colorful balloons are just a few of the examples beginning to pop-up throughout our small community.

Other variations include Christmas lights, lawn décor and even cute stuffed animals! Families can venture on leisurely walks or car rides throughout town and count the hearts they see, on windows of homes, businesses and even vehicles. It is a fun gesture to get creative and share good vibes with others (at a safe distance). You post pictures of your creations on their Facebook page, “Heart Hunters”, and see what others have done as well.

In this unexpected and shocking pandemic, it is important practice safety and social distancing but show our support for our fellow neighbors and hard-working community members who put themselves on the front lines for the rest of us. Let us encourage each other to breathe, stop to smell the roses, and keep our hearts full and heads up – who knows, you just may see something to brighten your day.
