Visitations Suspended at the Butte County Jail

Mar 31, 2020 12:00AM ● By Butte County Sheriff's Office

OROVILLE, CA (MPG) - On March 21, 2020, Butte County Health Officer Dr. Andy Miller announced the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Butte County. Due to that, all public visitation to the Butte County Jail is suspended until further notice. We cannot effectively accommodate social distancing for family members who come to the facility to visit inmates. Inmate visitation with attorneys and investigators will continue. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office understands the importance of family visiting to our community, and we will continue to follow Public Health guidelines and will begin working on alternative ways for inmates to have contact with family members. We ask for your patience as we all try and do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Butte County.
