GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Shortly after 4:00 pm on Tuesday September 10th, patrons at the Gridley McDonald’s got quite a surprise. A blue Ford Mustang plowed into the front of the building, breaking through the glass facade and into the dining area. The cause of the accident is still unclear at this time, but allegedly, the vehicle swerved suddenly from its south-bound course on hwy 99, jumped the curb and slammed into the restaurant.
According to Butte County Fire, Accidents and Crimes, a Facebook group managed by Karla Larsson, the single passenger was treated by Calfire and medics for moderate injuries and committed to the site for a brief period of observation. Gridley-Biggs Police Department was unable to comment on the incident before press time and the identity of the driver has not been released. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries.
